Lucas Grabeel and Bart Johnson participates in fan event in Lima, Peru

On August 22, Lucas Grabeel and Bart Johnson participated at the fan event hosted by Fun Meeting Universe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of High School Musical at the Teatro Canout in Lima, Peru.

Before the main event, on August 21, Grabeel and Johnson joined the Todo Good podcast with a special anniversary transmission for a interview.

Asked by one of the hosts if they ever imagined bringing High School Musical to Peru, Lucas answered that he felt really upset that the 2007 Lantin American Tour didn't had a stop at the country. In another question about HSM being their biggest role and detaching from it, Lucas said proudly about his character that "If you had the opportunity to be a character that is so widely accepted and loved, you should be begging to play that character for the rest of your career," he adds "It was the big act of my life."

Asked about how Ryan's sexuality have helped a lot of young queer fans on being represented, Lucas affirmed that it was one of the first thing he had asked Kenny Ortega before the movie began shooting and that in Disney it couldn't be so open, but he says "Ryan represent lot of us trying to figure out who we are in this crazy world." he also adds that the movie duality could be about anything and people could pull so many things that would help them.

At Teatro Canout, Lucas made an emotional speech to the fans talking about how after the time passed he realised what the film's meant to him, "High School Musical doesn't belong to me, or to Bart, or to Kenny, or the rest of the cast; it's yours, and you are the music in High School Musical; you are the soul and the joy and everything that keeps it alive and the reason we're standing here right now, it's because of you; and I can't tell you how amazing that feels for all of us now."
